Clifford Lee Burton (lahir 10 Februari 1962 – meninggal 27 September 1986 pada umur 24 tahun) adalah seorang pemain bass. Ia dikenal sebagai anggota kelompok metal Metallica dari 1982 sampai kematiannya pada 1986 karena kecelakaan lalu-lintas di Swedia ketika sedang tur dengan Metallica.
Burton bergabung dengan band pada tahun 1982 dan dilakukan pada album debut, Kill 'Em All. Ia Berperforma lebih dari dua album Metallica, Ride Lightning dan Master of Puppets. Pada tanggal 27 September 1986, Burton meninggal ketika bus band terbalik di pedesaan Selatan Swedia.Burton dilantik ke dalam Rock and roll Hall of Fame dengan Metallica pada tanggal 4 April 2009.

- Rickenbacker 4001 in Burgundy; later modified with Gibson Mudbucker and Seymour Duncan J Humcancelling pickup. Cliff also had a Seymour Duncan stratocaster pick-up installed under the Rickenbacker bridge in place of the foam mute. This bass resides at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
- Aria SB-1000. Cliff is seen using this for "Day On The Green" with dot inlays. Cliff was not really a big fan of this bass and preferred the Black n Gold 1. This bass is now at HQ, Metallica's current recording studio.
- Aria Black n Gold 1. This was also his favorite guitar, and used most often. This had the famous oval inlays. It is now on display along with James Hetfield's ESP Explorer at the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame.
- Alembic Spoiler. This was stolen from Cliff, according to him in an interview.
